BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
(A partial list)
- Represents the interests of nearly 4,000 homes in Upper, Lower and Old Ladera; thus, it wields political power with the L.A. County Sheriff, L.A. County Supervisor and other County service providers.
- Holds 10 meetings per year, including the annual Town Hall Meeting with the Supervisor- and, as needed, special meetings on issues of urgent interest to Ladera.
- Board of Directors are resident volunteers.
- Makes financial contributions to:

- Sheriff's Explorer Scouts
- Sheriff's Ladera Service Center
- Sheriff's Toy Drive and Relay Race
- Community Advisory Committee
- Recognition of Volunteers on Patrol and Service Center Volunteers

- Facilitates the formation of Neighborhood Watch groups and posting of signs to deter criminals.
- Monitors monthly crime statistics and trends to help reduce and eliminate crime in Ladera.
- Publishes a quarterly newsletter, INSIDE LADERA, and as needed, special-alert flyers.

- Vigilance and remediation of rundown homes
- Limiting on-street parking of RVs
- Support center for battered women and their children

- Parking/traffic at Parent Elementary School

- Monitor Playa Vista development
- Adding a Post Office substation in Ladera Heights
- Adding service at Westchester Post Office
- New Senior Center at Ladera Park
- Improve inconsistent mail delivery
- Resisting new development and traffic
- Negotiated new location/lease for Sheriff's station at Ladera Center
- Speed bumps for Ladera Park Avenue
- Improve quality of education at Parent School
- Welcome Committee delivered baskets to new residents
- New home security monitoring/patrol company, with 8-hour dedicated patrol
- Slauson Ave. traffic /light adjustments.
- Limit interference from Centinela apartment construction
