Our featured speaker will be Leticia Colchado from the Los Angeles County’s Chief Executive Office, Homelessness Initiative. Ms. Colchado coordinates the work of various departments and Service providers to respond to homelessness calls for outreach and sanitation efforts. She will be on hand to discuss the County’s response efforts, the process for approval of these efforts, and what their limitations are in helping the homeless.
The LHCA receives several inquiries each week regarding homeless encampments in our Area, and mostly asking why nothing is being done about it. The quick answer is that it is complicated. To learn more about the specifics, please join our call on Thursday evening October 21st. Additionally, our local Sheriff Captain, Christopher Johnson will be joining the call to update us on the current public safety issues and will field your questions.
