Goodbye & Congratulations Captain Johnson!

Message Below is from Captain Johnson from our Marina Del Rey Sheriff station;

Hello All,

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I must bid you, the community members of Marina Del Rey Station, a farewell. I have been offered and I accepted the captain position at Norwalk Station, a station I worked for several years and the area I have called home for the past 47 years.

Marina Del Rey Station has been my home for the last 6 years, and I am going to miss you, the community members it serves, dearly. I came to the station as the Operations Lieutenant and I’m truly thankful and honored to have been afforded the opportunity to stay and serve you as Captain. I never worked here prior to my arrival as Operations Lieutenant, and didn't know what to expect, but after a short time I learned the communities of Marina del Rey, Ladera Heights, Windsor Hills, and View Park are strong communities individually and even stronger collectively. You provided me with invaluable support, which made my job easy, and I thank you for that. I appreciate all the one-on-one conversations with many of you and the group discussions during meetings and community events I had a lot of fun and enjoyed our laughs together.

Over the years, I've learned so much from many of you individually and the community as a whole. You are a community of brilliant minds and good hearts. Marina Del Rey Station would not be what it is today without you. In leaving, I hope I provided you with a law enforcement service you were pleased with, which was my goal each and every day. Thank you for holding me accountable, expecting the best from me, and having faith in my effort to continually improve the quality of life in your areas.

I appreciate each of you, and the leadership and efforts you made to make your communities safe. The work you do cannot be quantified. I enjoyed working with you and value the friendships I've made along the way, which I look forward to continuing long after my departure.

If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to me and I will assist you in any way I can. You, the community Marina Del Rey Station serves, will always have a special place in my heart and my time with you was one of the highlights in my career.

I will transfer to Norwalk Station effective June12th. Until then, I will bel here to serve you, so if there is anything I can do prior to my departure please let me know.

I know I have missed a few people so if you could please forward this message that would be appreciated.

Chris
