The Magical Holiday Lights of Ladera Heights

Updated: Dec 23, 2020

The 2020 "Kid's Choice" winner

The First-Annual Ladera Heights Holiday Decor Contest kicked off last week and the show of holiday spirit was bright! If you haven't made your way through our community's many nooks and crannies to see the countless displays, we suggest you take the time.

The contest was imagined by Laderian, Evangelyn Nathan and led by LHCA Advisor, Dorothy Harris. The LHCA Beautification committee took ownership of the event and recruited several helpers from the community to bring it to life including the artwork of Barbi Neth seen online and along the major corridors of Ladera.

This friendly and festive competition did not disappoint, with so many festive displays spreading holiday cheer in a time when our community needs it most. We received 32 entrants into the competition and judged based on overall appearance, window display, and door display. The judges for this year's competition used a 4-point scale to grade each display. This year's judges were:

  • Dorothy Harris

  • Evangelyn Nathan

  • Sondra Hale

  • Rick Aldridge
