Each year, the holiday season brings out an abundance of generosity and love from Californians who want to support those in need. It’s a wonderful thing! Unfortunately, it also brings out scammers and fraudsters who seek to take advantage of this time of goodwill and prey on the kindness of unsuspecting individuals. As you look to donate your money and time to charitable organizations this month, take a moment to ensure it’s going to a legitimate and worthy cause. My office has tips to help you avoid charity scams and a complaint form to report suspicious activity.
